I, my self, Shailen Shrestha a.k.a. DJ Psy-lane started my career back in 2002 as an assistant DJ in Hotel Everest’s Club Galaxy in Nepal. I have learned all the Dj-ing techniques from DJ Ankit, the only Indian resident DJ in Nepal.
I have played in lot of private parties, organized in places like Hotel yak & yeti, Hotel Everest, Hotel Annapurna, etc. and rocked the places like Tantra Rest, Funky Buddha, Liquid Lounge, and 1905.

In 2004, I won the first runner up title at the "War of DJs" competition which was held in Club Platinum. DJ Anish a.k.a. DJ Alex from India was the lead Judge. Currently, I am staying in Boston, Massachusetts and played in couple of parties with sajha.

What do you think about Nepali Music Scene? Any Suggestions for its Growth.

I know its rocking right now, with all the new up coming talents and their new ideas. All the best, I would say ….but like to request now to imitate others creations. Try to put some of your originality on it. Don’t just create music, put some life on that. Something that can please one’s mind. Something that can give you a compliment like …………WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Message for Fans:

The role of selecting and playing prerecorded music for an intended audience is the same for every disc jockey. The selected music, the audience, the setting, the preferred medium, and the level of sophistication of sound manipulation are factors that the DJs should consider.

The main focus of DJs is on the music they play. They build their sets by choosing tracks to control the energy level of the crowd and use beatmixing (or "beatmatching") technique for seamless transition between tracks.
So, there is a request, I would like to send to the Nepalese Community, specially to the Party Lovers, that please don’t think a DJ as a Juke Box, where you go the DJ and ask them to play this and that. I know you might be turndown for your request so many times. And then you think, he/ she is a worse DJ that didn’t play your track. But their might be some other reasons like they don’t have your track or it can break the flow of rhythm, the vibe that a DJ creates with his sets.

You and Your request are very important to them, but If there is a break on the flow, then that is the most embarrassing moment for a DJ. So as a DJ, he / she will try its best to create a hallucination, where people can submerge on its flow. It can be a 2 or 3 hrs party, but they try their best to make you feel good, enjoy and get more out of it, after all, its for you people, they are playing.

Cheers & Party Hard People!!!!!!!!
